Ram Janmabhoomi Verdict

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to re-examine its ‘1994 Ismail Farooqui’ verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi case which stated that Namaz at Mosque is not integral to Islam. In the three-judge bench headed by CJI Dipak Mishra, the majority i.e. 2:1 ruled in favor of its earlier judgment. After clearing the technical issues in the case, the SC has declared that it will start hearing the civil case for land dispute from October 29th. As the Ram Janmabhoomi issue has turned out to be a political one over the years, will the proceeding and timing of the case have any impact on the 2019 elections? In this episode of HW Exclusive, our Managing Editor Mr. Sujit Nair in conversation with BJP’s Seshadri Chari tries to find out how will the politics around the Ram Janmabhoomi case unfold in the run up to 2019 Elections.
