Until few months ago all was not well with BJP and Shivsena. We all knew about the bitter public fallout between the two long time allies. After the 2014 elections, in which BJP under the leadership of Modi stormed to power in both state and centre, the things started changing between the parry and Shivsena. While on one hand Shivsena leaders did not miss the chance to slam the government, BJP even went to an extent of supporting Narayan Rane-an aech-rival of Shivsena. However, after TDP pulled out of the government and moved a no-confidence motion against BJP, the party has suddenly mended its ways with Shivsena. While Maharashtra Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar asserted in Assembly that both Sena and BJP will be fighting elections together, CM Devendra Fadnavis too held a meeting with Shivsena leaders requesting them to not support the no-confidence motion.
The team of HW Marathi conducted a dipstick survey regarding the alliance and what common people think about it.We talked to our HW Marathi correspondent Manasi Jadhav and our managing editor Mr. Sujit Nair about what the survey revealed.
