“Congress president Rahul Gandhi never fail to amaze us. While responding to the controversy, related to remarks made on his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in a web series called ‘Sacred Games’, amazed the entire nation with his tweet. Rahul Gandhi, the party president, has currently reconstituted the Congress Working Committee, its top policy-making body with a blend of old and new faces. He has opted a blend of young and old names in the new list. But there are only 7 women leaders that have been given place out of the 51 member and only 15% quota to women in the new CWC list. The party which constantly raise the issue of 33% women representation in the legislature, speaks openly about the failure on the policies of women security in our country, has clearly disappointed this time. And this is the same grand old party which had female chief like Indira Gandhi for 6 years and Sonia Gandhi for almost 20 years. “”There are no favourites in politics. When it comes to women, they treat them with the same General Inconsideration.””

The death toll in the flood-hit Kerala has jumped to 324. And in the last 10 days of floods, the death toll has nearly become three times more in the last 24 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had arrived in Kochi last night to undertake a survey of flood-hit areas. Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan during the aerial survey. After consultation with chief minister, Narendra Modi announced an interim relief aid of Rs 500 crore. The entire procedure has certainly killed a lot of valuable time and has taken a toll on the innumerous lives that could have otherwise been saved had this procedure would be paced up.
