“It has been weeks since India has been hit by a ferocious second wave of the pandemic. The cases are rising and rising and our medical infrastructure is falling short to accommodate the influx of covid patients. The result, people running helter-skelter to get their loved ones a bed in the hospitals, People queuing up for hours at a stretch outside oxygen plants to get one cylinder, People taking it to Twitter and other social media platforms to find ventilators or ICU beds for covid positive patients. Even today, you open your Twitter feed and there will be n number of posts asking for help. hospitals are filled with covid patients, some of the hospitals have put out a board that they will not be able to take any more patients. and in such a dire situation what if I tell you that while patients are dying without ventilators, there are thousands of ventilators lying unused in several parts of the country. While people are scrambling for a ventilator bed, thousands of ventilators across the country are unpacked and unopened. Calling it a sorry state of affairs would be an understatement. So what exactly is happening to these ventilators???
