Imran Khan has been as sworn in as Pakistan;s news prime minister after his party’s victory in last month’s election. Khan was elected as his party PTI swept the election, vowing to bring an era of accountability and prosperity to the country. Khan who was famously captioned the Pakistan national cricket team to World Cup glory in 1992, has also invited some of his teammates to his oath taking ceremony. Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Sindhu too had reached Pakistan to attend the ceremony. In Imran Khan’s victory address to the nation, he expressed how he is expecting India as a big opportunity to be explored. So can we expect any path-breaking gestures towards India now? Bishop Franco Mulakkal arrested: Justice is finally served

Jalandhar bishop Franco Mulakkal was arrested by kerala police on friday after being questioned for the third day over allegations that he raped a nun for several occassions between 2014 and 2016. Soon after the report of it emerged, the case triggered protests by members of the church throughout Kerala. The allegations against the 54 year old bishop were first made nearly three months ago. Kerala had witnessed a huge public outcry and an unprecedented public protest by five nuns of the victim seeking the bishop’s arrest. From social activists to jurists to writers a majority of women had come out in support of their agitation.

India calls off the meeting with Pakistan, terms it a double game of the neighbouring country?

Following a national outrage over the government’s decision to meet with Pakistan on the sidelines of UN General Assembly, the top sources in the government have indicated that the Centre has called off the talks. The deep rooted government sources have told that that the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj won’t be shaking hands with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi as a consequence of barbarism perpetrated by Pakistan along the border.
