Kashmir Report: Has our foreign policy failed ?

In what was probably Narendra Modi’s last major foreign policy speech before 2019 general elections, PM Modi clearly outlined India’s position for the world’s military and strategic leadership at the Shangri La security in Singapore on June 1st. However, despite his best efforts, PM Modi has failed to fundamentally transform the nation’s foreign policies in the last 4 years. If you look at the recent examples, India failed to play the role of a bigger brother in Maldives to resolve their gruesome political instabilities. And now the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena party had slammed the NDA government over the unilateral ceasefire in Kashmir during Ramzan and the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari in Srinagar. According to them, even after visiting so many places, no country is willing to stand by India on the reports of UN. Apart from portraying him as a Global Leader, did it bring any success to the India’s foreign policy. So, was Modi’s hug diplomacy worth at the end? Did his bear hugs truly benefit our nation?
