Torrential rains lashed parts of Delhi-NCR region

Torrential rains lashed parts of Delhi-NCR region on today morning bringing some respite from high humidity in the city. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted showers in the area along with a cloudy weather. The Delhi traffic police tweeted alerts about flooding on some roads in the city, and asked people to avoid taking certain routes. Power supply was also affected in some areas because of the downpour. The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees, three notches below the season’s average. The Met forecast said that more spells of rains and thundershowers to occur during the day. According to the department, the monsoon axis is looming over states Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand due to which heavy rains are expected in the following days.
