As the chief editor of Indian Express Raj Kamal Jha once said that good journalism is not dying, it is just getting bigger and better. In these last 15 days, 9 journalists were booked the Uttar Pradesh police. And they are just one of the many such cases in our country. We just can’t call this a case of ‘shooting the messenger’ but it is a case of falsely implicating a journalist who was reporting the level of corruption happening at every level in our country. The government, in this case, the UP government, the Yogi Adityanath government, instead of fixing the problem, is targeting the journalists who are bringing these problems to light.
