Chennai: Customs department at Trichy Airport held a man for carrying gold paste worth Rs. 15 Lakh concealed in custom-made underwear. Officials caught him based on a tip they had received.
The man was traveling from Singapore to Trichy via an Indigo aircraft. The officials first couldn’t find any gold, but when they scanned his undergarments, they discovered a packet containing a paste.

Between two layers of stitched-together material, a parcel was hidden. The underwear was torn off, the paste was chemically processed, and 301 g of 24-carat gold worth Rs. 15.32 lakh was removed.
