“Prashant Kishor Wanted JD(U) To Merge With Congress”: Nitish Kumar

New Delhi: The ongoing war of words between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and poll strategist Prashant Kishor is heating up. JD(U) Leader stated that Prashant Kishor advised him to merge his party with Congress.

“Four to five years ago, Prashant Kishor told me to merge with Congress. He has now gone to the BJP and is acting accordingly,” Bihar CM said.

When he was questioned that has he offered Prashant Kishor, Nitish denied it. He said, “It’s false. Let him speak whatever he wants, we’ve nothing to do with it.4-5 yrs back he had told me to merge with Congress. He has gone to BJP & is acting as per it…”

Nitish said that now he is with BJP and is working accordingly. He said, “Aajkal jaha gaya hain BJP mein, apne hisab se kar raha hain (He has gone to the BJP and is acting accordingly). Now, I won’t reply to anything on his comment. This is good for him. I hope he gets a position there (BJP).”

On Thursday, Prashant Kishor had attacked Kumar and said that he rebuffed a recent request by the latter to “lead” the Janata Dal (United).

“Nitish Kumar has been able to hold on to his chair and thinks he is very smart (mukhyamanti banke bahut hoshiyar ban rahe hain), said Kishor.

Prashant Kishor said that Nitish when met him in Delhi back in 2014 after losing polls begged him for help. “After losing the 2014 (Lok Sabha) polls, he met me in Delhi, begging for help. I assisted him in winning the 2015 assembly polls as the chief ministerial candidate of the Mahagathbandhan. Today, he has the temerity to offer gyan (wisdom) to me.”

“You all must have learnt through media reports that Nitish Kumar had called me to his residence about 10-15 days back. He asked me to lead his party. I said it is not possible. I cannot go back on the commitment I have made in return for any post,” said Prashant Kishor.

He launched a public awareness campaign called Jan Suraaj.
