Amritsar (Punjab): A total of 44 Pakistani Sikh delegates on Monday arrived in India from Pakistan via the Attari-Wagah border to visit gurudwaras in Delhi and Amritsar.

โ€œWe have arrived from Pakistanโ€™s Peshawar, Sindh and other areas to visit the Gurudwaras of Delhi and Amritsar,โ€ a Pakistani Sikh delegate Harbhajan Singh told ANI. Another delegate Sardar Karam Singh said, โ€œWe are a total of 44 people, and have arrived to visit the Darbar Sahib in Delhi. We are thankful to the Pakistan government for giving us permission to visit India.โ€

He said that they will be visiting various Gurudwaras including the Amritsar Golden temple.

Visuals captured by ANI show Sikh delegates crossing the Attari-Wagah border. They are carrying their luggage and getting their passports checked by security officials.
Recently, Pakistanโ€™s High Commission in New Delhi issued nearly 3,000 visas to Indian Sikh pilgrims to attend the week-long birth celebrations of Guru Nanak.
Indian Sikh pilgrims visited Dera Sahib, Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib.

Sikh pilgrims, recently, expressed disappointment after the Pakistani authorities rejected 586 visas, out of a total 1496 visas, of Indian Sikhs, wanting to visit the Nankana Sahib in Pakistan.โ€SGPC had applied for 1496 visas, out of which, 910 were approved but 586 were rejected. The visas are valid for ten days, and those whose visas were rejected, have been disappointed a lot. Government should not reject the religious visa,โ€ said Harbhajan Singh.

โ€œBoth governments need to provide the facility of On Arrival Visa. The Visa office must be open at Attari-Wagah Border. The buses which used to run earlier, for the darshan of the Gurdwara of Pakistan were also stopped. That should run again, like the Delhi-Lahore bus. Amritsar Nankana Sahib even the Samjota Exores train has been stopped. We should connect the people of both countries through religious places,โ€ he further stated.

โ€œI Do Vipassanaโ€; What Rahul Gandhi Told ED During His Marathon Questioning

Shashank
Rahul Gandhi

Mr. Gandhi said the ED officers asked him at night how he was able to sit upright in the chair for over 11 hours without being tired.

New Delhi: Speaking about how he managed the marathon questioning sessions with the Enforcement Directorate, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today said that the probe agencyโ€™s officers were surprised by his patience and endurance.

While addressing party workers at the Delhi headquarters, he said that he never felt alone in the office even though he was sitting in a 12/12 ft room with three ED officers. โ€œI wasnโ€™t alone in the room, all you Congress workers were with me. All those who believe in freedom were also with me.

Mr. Gandhi said the ED officers asked him at night how he was able to sit upright in the chair for over 11 hours without being tired, as they were tired. โ€œI thought let me not tell them the real reason, I told them I do Vipassana. You have to sit for long hours in that, you get used to it,โ€ he remarked in jest.

Rahul Gandhi then narrated his five-day experience. โ€œI answered questions, checked all the answers, and didnโ€™t leave my chair much, he said, adding that on the last day the officers asked him how he has so much patience.

โ€œI told them I wonโ€™t tell youโ€ฆyou know what the truth is? The truth is I have been working with Congress since 2004, of course, I have patience. This party doesnโ€™t let us tire out and it teaches us patience. Look at Sachin Pilot (indicating he is also patiently waiting for his due). That is how we fight for people,โ€ he said.

He then slammed the Centre over unemployment, damaging the MSME sector, and various other policy decisions.

โ€œThe biggest issue in the country is jobs and the government has broken the โ€œspine of the countryโ€ by harming small and medium businesses, Mr. Gandhi said, addressing Congress parliamentarians and legislators from across the country who converged at the party headquarters in Delhi to express solidarity with him after he was questioned by the probe agency.

Mr. Ganadhi further reminded the party workers about his prediction on the farm laws which were later rolled back by the center. โ€œDidnโ€™t I tell you that Farm Laws will be revoked? See, Modiji had to revoke it. Now I am telling you, the Agnipath scheme will be shelved. Wait and watch. The new โ€˜dhokaโ€˜ that Modi has done with India and its army, will be undone,โ€ Mr. Gandhi said.

The Wayanad MP has so far been questioned for more than 50  hours in five days by the ED in connection with an alleged money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.

Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi who was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital got discharged and has requested seeking more time to appear before the probe agency.
