Representatives of controversial godman Nithyanandaâs self-proclaimed country âRepublic of Kailasaâ attended a United Nations meeting, where they demanded protection for the âsupreme pontiff of Hinduismâ. The meeting of United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) was held in Geneva on February 24. The photos of the meeting was posted on the official Twitter account of Nithyananda along with the information that the all-women delegation participated in discussions on âequal and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systemsâ. Nithyananda, who left India years ago, established his ashram in a location he calls Kailasa. In this episode of the Editorial, our Managing Editor Mr Sujit Nair shares his take.
