K Chandrashekar Rao asserted that Telangana has experienced significant development since his party took office in 2014.
Hyderabad: On Tuesday, K Chandrasekhar Rao, the president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Chief Minister of Telangana, confidently declared that his party would secure a more substantial majority in the upcoming Assembly elections compared to previous instances. He also predicted that the Congress would secure less than 20 seats out of the total 119. Speaking at an election rally in Madhira, Rao mocked the Congress by suggesting that it has a plethora of chief ministerial candidates.
“I assure you, they (Congress) won’t emerge victorious. The Congress will be limited to the same 20 seats, or even fewer. This visit to Madhira marks my 70th constituency visit as part of the election campaign, with only 30 more to go. As I continue visiting constituencies, the Congress continues to face defeat,” he confidently stated.

On the contrary, under the rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) since 2014, Telangana has made significant strides, claiming the leading position in the country in terms of per capita income, he noted.
Accusing Congress leaders of pledging to reinstate the ‘Indiramma Rajyam,’ the welfare policies of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he pointed out that this era was characterized by the Emergency, and the plight of Dalits has purportedly persisted unchanged since then.
Further, he criticized the Congress, asserting that its track record was marked by the betrayal of the public trust.
“The Congress, which governed undivided Andhra Pradesh prior to the formation of Telangana in 2014, failed to guarantee a sufficient supply of drinking and irrigation water,” he said.
