Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram alleged on Saturday that the BJP-led Centre is exploiting investigative agencies during elections. He pointed to the Telangana elections as an example, claiming that at least four candidates from his party were either summoned or had their premises searched amidst the poll campaign.

Chidambaram highlighted the disparity by noting that no BJP candidates faced similar scrutiny, sarcastically suggesting that “it is obvious that all candidates of the BJP were chosen by the gods and carry divine blessings.”
In a post on X, the former Union minister emphasized that this differential treatment raises concerns about the misuse of investigative agencies for political advantage.
