During the October 7 assault, Hamas reportedly targeted an Israeli military base, igniting a fire near missile storage and sensitive weaponry. The New York Times revealed that the Sdot Micha base in central Israel houses many of Israel’s nuclear-capable missiles. The rocket hit within the base, near a Jericho missile facility, a large radar system, and an air defence missile battery. The base is situated 25 miles northeast of Gaza and 15 miles west of Jerusalem.
