SC announces verdict on Article 370

On December 11, the Supreme Court rendered its verdict on Article 370โ€™s abrogation, affirming its validity. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud noted Article 370โ€™s temporary nature. The reorganization of Ladakh as a Union Territory was upheld, with CJI Chandrachud advocating the restoration of Jammu and Kashmirโ€™s statehood. Furthermore, elections in J&K were mandated for September 2024.
