Kejriwal To Attend 10-Day Vipassana Meditation

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister of Delhi, is set to embark on a 10-day Vipassana meditation course next week. Scheduled to depart on December 19, a day after the conclusion of the winter session of the Delhi Assembly, the destination remains undisclosed. Vipassana, an ancient Indian meditation method, involves practitioners refraining from communication, including talking and gestures, for an extended period to enhance mental well-being.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Trinamool Congress, DMK, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), and YSR Congress collectively received Rs 1,243 crore through electoral bonds, as per their latest audit reports. Though lower than the previous yearโ€™s Rs 1,338 crore, BRS notably saw a 3.4-fold increase in bond contributions. Trinamoolโ€™s expenditure was the highest at Rs 181 crore in 2022-23. Electoral bonds constituted a significant portion of these partiesโ€™ total receipts, accounting for 97% of Trinamoolโ€™s, 86% of DMKโ€™s, 84% of BJDโ€™s, 70% of YSR Congressโ€™s, and 71% of BRSโ€™s income.
