On Monday, the Maharashtra government unveiled a Rs 44,288 crore relief package for farmers grappling with unseasonal rain, drought, hailstorms, and floods. Described as “historic,” the aid includes a Rs 20,000 bonus per hectare for paddy farmers. CM Eknath Shinde also announced the establishment of a Rs 500 crore Konkan Shetra Vikas Pradhikaran development council.
