VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar, who has been invited to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, has responded to the invitation.
“Earlier today, I received an invitation from Shri Rahul Gandhi to join him in his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. I have conditionally accepted the invitation and stressed on the fact that it would be difficult for me to join him in his Yatra as VBA has NOT yet been invited to INDIA alliance and MVA.” Ambedkar said in a tweet.
The tweet further read, (Joining the Yatra without being inducted into INDIA and MVA will lead to speculations of an alliance, which has not yet materialised. Hence, I have requested Rahul Gandhi to send VBA an invitation for both the INDIA alliance and MVA.

Since September 1, Ambedkar has repeatedly expressed his willingness to join the INDIA alliance.
However, the party is yet to receive a confirmation on the same despite the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena UBT being an important member of the INDIA alliance, which has allied with the VBA.
Besides, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) leader Prakash Ambedkar had invited Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to attend the ‘Samvidhan Samman Mahasabha’ in Mumbai on November 25.
Rahul Gandhi could not participate in the rally as he was busy preparing for the Telangana elections. However, he had sent state Congress chief Nana Patole as his representative.
Vanchit Bahujan Aagadi, which currently does not have a single MP MLA, has demanded 12 out of the 48 seats in the state. Ambedkar has proposed an equal distribution of seats amongst all the four parties.
Although The VBA could not win a single seat in the 2019 assembly elections, according to reports, there were 25 seats where the VBA played spoilsport. Where the Congress candidate came second, and the margin of victory for BJP, the united Shiv Sena, was less than the number of votes polled by VBA.
The VBA had allied with the AIMIM in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. VBA had fielded candidates in 47 constituencies, and the AIMIM fielded only one candidate. The VBA could not win a single seat. However, AIMIM managed to secure the one seat it contested.
