Maldives Signs Defense Agreement With China As Indian Troops Withdraw

Following the arrival of an Indian technical team in the Maldives to replace troops at President Mohamed Muizzuโ€™s behest, the Maldivian Defense Ministry revealed the signing of a military accord with China. The agreement includes China providing military assistance to the Maldives gratis. The specifics of the agreement were not disclosed. Additionally, China donated 12 green ambulances to the Maldivesโ€™ Health Ministry.
