The Enforcement Directorate accused Congress MP Karti Chidambaram of accepting a ₹50 lakh bribe through an associate to secure Union home ministry approval for reusing visas for Chinese workers by a Punjab-based power plant company. The bribe was reportedly routed through a fictitious cash transaction to a company controlled by Karti. He represents the Sivaganga Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu and has been questioned multiple times by the agency in connection with the case.
