Lawyer Jai Dehadrai Withdraws Defamation Case Against Mahua Moitra In Delhi HC

Lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai on Thursday withdrew his defamation lawsuit against Mahua Moitra from the Delhi High Court as a ‘peace offering’. Dehadrai’s lawyer suggested that the case could be put to an end if the TMC MP was willing to “de-escalate” by undertaking that she would not make “palpably false” statements. Last year, Dehadrai accused his former partner Moitra of taking bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament, which led to her expulsion from the Lok Sabha on December 8.
