The Karnataka government has instructed a Bengaluru shopping mall to close for one week following allegations that an elderly farmer was refused entry for wearing a dhoti. Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh cited legal provisions allowing such action, noting a case filed against the mall’s owner and security guard under Section 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
