West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose raised a “national security concern” on Sunday following the discovery of a tunnel beneath the home of an alleged fake gold dealer in South 24 Parganas. The tunnel, connecting to a canal and flowing into the Matla River near the Indo-Bangladesh border, was reportedly used for the dealer’s escape. Bose has demanded a report on the state’s response to organized crime at the border.
