Amid election fever, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis claimed on Thursday that several Congress leaders are in talks with the BJP. Fadnavis’ claim came after Congress leader Ravi Raja resigned from the grand old party after serving for 44 years and joined the Saffron party.
Fadnavis said, “Along with Ravi Raja, multiple Congress leaders are coming into our contact, and they wish to join the BJP. Soon, they will leave Congress and join the BJP. Don’t ask me the names, but Congress leaders will come with us in the coming days,” said DCM Devendra Fadnavis.
Who is Ravi Raja?
Ravi Raja has served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (BMC) and has been a five-time corporator.
In a post on X, Raja said: “Since 1980 as a Youth Congress Member, I have served the party with utmost sincerity and dedication and today I am made to believe that my 44 years of service for the Congress party is not respected and hence I take this decision of resigning from my party post,” Raja said in a post on X.
