Lokayukta Questions Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah For Nearly 2 Hours

Siddaramaiah

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah on Wednesday was questioned by the police wing of the Lokayukta for around two hours in connection with alleged irregularities in the allotment of compensatory housing sites to his wife by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), reported the Scroll.

The report further said that the CM Siddaramaiah arrived at the Lokayukta police office in the city and was questioned from 10.10 a.m. to 12.05 p.m.

What Is The MUDA Scam?

The alleged MUDA scam focuses on the value of land allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, in a prime area of Mysuru as compensation for land elsewhere taken for infra development. The allegation is that the value of land allotted grossly – by ₹ 4,000 to ₹ 5,000 crore – exceeds that taken.

In a complaint filed by an activist, TJ Abraham, that named the Chief Minister, his wife and son, and senior MUDA officials, it was alleged that allotment of 14 alternative sites in a Mysuru neighbourhood was illegal and caused a loss of ₹ 45 crore, according to an NDTV report.
