Assembly Elections to choose the next government of Maharashtra has begun. The state went to polling for the first time since the NCP-Sena split. This election will be the year’s last and most-watched contest.
Voting is underway for all 288 seats of the Maharashtra legislative assembly today, November 20. A total of 4,136 candidates are contesting in the elections.
The voting began at around 7 am and will conclude by 6 pm in the evening.
With Maharashtra, the Jharkhand assembly election will also conclude today. The results for both states will be announced on November 23 by the Election Commission Of India.
The Prime Minister and CM of Maharashtra urged voters of the state to vote in large numbers as polling opened for 288 seats of Maharashtra.
