Terrorist Masood Azhar Claims

He also invited other people to come to their funeral prayers

Reports from PTI stated that Maulana Masood Azhar, the chief of Jaish-e Mohammad claimed that 10 members from his family and four of his aides were killed in India’s targeted airstrikes which were under Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack.

A statement was attributed to Azhar, which says about his family members who lost their lives and were killed in one of the strikes. This was a strike on JeM headquarters – Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur. This includes his elder sister, her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece and five children from the extended family.

“Ten members of my family were blessed with this happiness together tonight… five are innocent children, my elder sister, her honorable husband. My scholar Fazil bhanje (nephew) and his wife and my beloved scholar Fazilah (bhanji) … my dear brother Huzaifah and his mother. Two more dear companions,” Azhar said.

He said that these family members he has lost have become guests of Allah. He also invited other people to come to their funeral prayers.

“Rather, it comes to my heart again and again that I too would have joined this fourteen-member happy caravan,” he said, saying that he has “neither regret nor despair.”

“Time for their departure had come, but the Lord did not kill them,” he added.

Azhar Mahmood has been behind many terror attacks in India. This includes the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, 2016 Pathankot attack and the 2019 Pulwama attack.

He has been listed as an international terrorist by the UN Security Council.

India launched 24 missiles at nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir. Over 70 terrorists were killed and over 60 people were injured in the strikes.

It was stated that the effect of the strikes was limited to targeted compounds and spots after the operation was undertaken and done.

PM Modi Meets Indian President After Operation Sindoor

News Desk

Prior to this, he presided over a Cabinet meeting where he described the operation as a ‘moment of pride’.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, shortly after the Indian armed forces conducted precision strikes against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Reports indicate that Prime Minister Modi briefed President Murmu on the operation.

Prior to this, he presided over a Cabinet meeting where he described the operation as a ‘moment of pride’.

He assured the Cabinet that the operation was executed flawlessly, with ‘no mistakes whatsoever’, and that the retaliatory strike was ‘successfully completed’.

During the meeting, he commended the armed forces for their ‘commendable job’ and ‘immaculate execution’.

“The whole country was looking up to us. We are proud of our Army,” said PM Modi.

The Cabinet ministers collectively demonstrated their support for Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, applauding the government’s initiatives with enthusiastic table thumping. They also affirmed that the entire nation stands resolutely behind PM Modi and the military in the battle against terrorism, as reported by the news agency IANS.

The military operation targeting terror camps in Pakistan and PoK commenced at 1:05 AM on Wednesday, May 7, and lasted for 25 minutes, during which nine terror camps and training facilities were struck using stand-off munitions such as the HAMMER bomb and the SCALP missile, among others capable of hovering to confirm targets before detonation.

In retaliation, Pakistan engaged in ‘arbitrary and indiscriminate firing’ and artillery shelling across the Line of Control, resulting in the deaths of at least three civilians in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

This operation, named Operation Sindoor, followed a tragic incident in which 26 civilians were killed in a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

16 airports include Leh, Thois, Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jamnagar, Bhatinda, Bhuj, Dharamshala, Shimla, Rajkot, and Porbandar have been closed after the strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif told, “This has been initiated by India. If India is ready to back down, they have taken the initiative, we have just responded. We have been saying this that we will never initiate anything hostile towards India. But if we are attacked, we will respond. If India backs down, we will definitely wrap up these things. But as long as we are under fire, we have to respond,” while speaking to a news channel.
