Why Is Annamalai Telling Tamilian-Mumbaikars Who To Vote For???

Annamalai had no business coming to Mumbai and making unnecessary, provocative statements. This is not about party politics alone. It has created an avoidable bitterness in the minds of Maharashtrians and has also embarrassed Tamilians who have lived in Mumbai for decades with pride and dignity.

Why would anyone want leaders from another state parachuting in to lecture people on local elections? Tamil speaking Mumbaikars do not need political instructions from outside. They are perfectly capable of deciding who deserves their vote in their ward and in their city.

More importantly, what moral authority does a Tamil Nadu politician have to advise voters elsewhere when the BJP under his leadership failed to win even a single Lok Sabha seat in his own state, and when he himself lost his own election? This comes across not as leadership but as political arrogance.

Mumbai is Maharashtra’s international city. There should be no ambiguity about that. It belongs to Maharashtrians, and it belongs equally to every Indian who has come here to work, live, and build a life in harmony. That balance has been achieved through mutual respect, not political grandstanding.

First, we witnessed an economic onslaught on Maharashtra with major projects quietly moved to Gujarat and other states. Now we see unnecessary political interference that risks disturbing social harmony. This pattern is troubling.

Maharashtrians are hospitable, and deeply tolerant. People from every corner of India live here in peace and dignity because this city allows space for everyone. Please do not poison that environment with divisive politics or an us versus them mindset.

Let Mumbai breathe. And let us continue to live in peace.
