New Delhi| The Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website was hacked. The hacker appealed to donate money to the PM Modi Relief Fund. As per reports, the donation was sought in the crypto currency bitcoin. However, this tweet was deleted immediately.
The hacker wrote in another tweet, “This account has been hacked by John Wick ([email protected]). We have not hacked Paytm Mall.” Twitter confirmed this on Thursday when the news came to light. However, the social media platform is not sure when the hacking took place.
According to news agency Reuters, the microblogging platform has also confirmed the hacking of this account. Many celebrities’ accounts were hacked in July
In July, Twitter accounts of several celebrities and companies were hacked including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former US President Barack Obama. Hackers also targeted the accounts of iPhone company Apple and cab service company Uber. Hackers resorted to big names for cryptocurrency fraud.
