New Delhi| Sonia Gandhi will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of non-NDA states today. In the meeting, the issue of NEET-JEE examinations will be discussed along with the outstanding Goods and Services Tax (GST) of the states. The National Testing Agency (NTA) said on Tuesday that the examinations will be held on schedule i.e. JEE exams will be held from September 1 to September 6 and NEET on September 13. Earlier, the Supreme Court had also rejected the application to postpone these two exams.

Many states are demanding to postpone the examinations because of Coronavirus. According to news agency ANI, the Chief Minister of West Bengal and Jharkhand will also participate in Sonia Gandhi’s meeting through video conferencing. According to media reports, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is unlikely to join. Earlier there was news that he would attend the meeting.
Mamta Banerjee wrote a letter to the Prime Minister
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to him to think about putting a review petition in the Supreme Court to postpone the examinations. Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also appealed to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to postpone NEET-JEE.
