Mumbai| Comic Kunal Kamra confronted Republic journalist Arnab Goswami on IndiGo airline flight for which he was suspended from flying with the airline for 6 months. Now the comic has sent a legal notice to the airline asking for a public apology and compensation of 25 lakhs for the action they took against Kamra.
In a legal notice sent to the airline, Kamra’s lawyer has said, “pay compensation towards my client in sum of Rs 25 lakhs on account of the mental pain and agony suffered by my client as well as losses incurred on account of cancellation of his scheduled shows and programmes in India as well as abroad on account of adoption of totally illegal, arbitrary and high-handed procedure which is against the extant of DGCA CAR (Regulations)”.

IndiGo hasn’t issued an official response on the question of notice.
This comes after the pilot who flew both Kunal Kamra and Arnab Goswami wrote a letter to the airline asking why he wasn’t consulted before imposing the ban on Kamra. The pilot had said, “Mr Kamra’s behaviour, while unsavoury, was not qualifying of a level 1 unruly passenger. Indeed we pilots can all attest to incidents similar and/or worse in nature that were not deemed unruly.”
Kunal Kamra was banned from the airline for heckling journalist Arnab Goswami on Mumbai-Lucknow flight.
