Congress Does Not Have A President Or Elected CWC: Kapil Sibal

New Delhi : Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal once again slams party leadership on resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu other young leaders. He said party is facing such issues because we don’t have proper president. he urged leadership to organize CWC meeting as soon as possible.

Today while speaking media Sibal said, “Unfortunately, we [Congress] do not have a [full-time] president or an elected CWC. I am speaking in my personal capacity and of the group [G23], who wrote a letter last year to the party president.”

“I believe that one of my senior colleagues has perhaps written or is about to write to Congress president to immediately convene a CWC so that a dialogue can take place as to why we are in this state,” he added.

Sibal said that G-23 will raise issues that need to be addressed. “It is very clear. We are G-23 not Ji Huzoor 23. We will keep talking. We will continue to reiterate our demands,” Sibal said.

Problem in Punjab will benefit Pakistan

Punjab crisis will benefit Pakistan. He said that Pakistan and ISI will benefit from the current political crisis in Punjab as it is a bordering state. This is a threat to the nation. He said, “I don’t want to talk about Punjab but a border state where this is happening to Congress party means what? It is an advantage to ISI and Pakistan. We know the history of Punjab and the rise of extremism there… we know how forces across the border exploit the situation to create an atmosphere of uncertainty. It is these forces that are the biggest threat to the nation. Congress should make sure that they remain united. If somebody has an issue, it has to be discussed,”

The leader questions, “Those who were special to him, they left him, those who thought they were not special, he is standing with them.”

Sibal’s statement comes after Sidhu quits as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief. His resignation triggered other resignations and plunging the party into a fresh crisis just months ahead of the assembly elections.

Punjab Politics Turned Upside Down In Last 2 Months.

The Congress’s problems in Punjab are far from over. It is like a fratricidal war that turned Punjab politics upside down in barely two months. Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu took over as Punjab Congress chief on July 23, emerging ‘victorious’ in a bitter rivalry with Captain Amarinder Singh, the former Punjab chief minister.

After taking charge of the Punjab Congress, Sidhu stepped up his campaign to remove Amarinder Singh as Punjab’s chief minister. Sidhu got Amarinder Singh cornered, forcing him to resign as Punjab chief minister on September 18. Ten days later, Sidhu resigns from the Punjab Congress president’s post.
