New Delhi: Congress president and Parliamentarian Sonia Gandhi has asked party leaders to “aggressively” raise the issue of CAA, NPR, and NRC to counter the government in the upcoming Budget Session. The session begins on 31 January.
Sonia Gandhi gave the directions to top Congress brass during a meeting at her residence to discuss the party’s strategy for the Budget session.
EX- Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi including some Rajya Sabha MP and Lok Sabha MP Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, and K Suresh were present during the meeting.
Congress will fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and raise the economic slowdown and other Key issues that concern the common man. The Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said to Media after the meeting.
“Our party will fight for the Constitution and will also fight against the CAA,” Ranjan said.
The Congress party is planning to go aggressive on the issue of CAA, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) and counter the government amid countrywide agitation over these issues.
Apart from Congress and other opposition parties will also meet soon to plan a joint opposition strategy ahead of the Parliament session.
