Gadkari also said that there is a negative attitude in making decisions, further addressing the bureaucracy that they should facilitate those who try to make decisions.
Nagpur| Union minister Nitin Gadkari today took a sly dig at his own government claiming there is a lack of intention and ability in government to take big decisions. He added that there no dearth of money in government but lack of ability to make decisions.
He was speaking at an event in Nagpur. With a smile on his face, he said, “In the past 5 years I have awarded work of Rs 17 lakh crore, this year I wish to award Rs 5 lakh crore work. See there is no dearth of money in this government, the only thing lacking is the mentality and intention to get things done and make decisions.”

Further talking about the IAS officers he said, “I was at a forum of government officials the day before where they were talking about starting this scheme, that development package and I asked them why would you do that. If you could you do it, you wouldn’t be sitting here doing the job of an IAS officer. You could have instead made these big decisions. You are facilitators, you should help those who can make these decisions.”
The MP from Nagpur also stressed that people should work in the area where they hold potential.
He also played cricket at a ground in Chatrapati Nagar of Nagpur. He also visited various grounds to encourage players who participated in ‘Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’.
“In Nagpur, under the Krida Mahotsav, I cheered for the players by visiting various grounds in the city. In Chhatrapati Nagar, I could not stop myself from playing with the youth on the ground,” Gadkari said on Twitter.
