New Delhi| Weeks after the violence at Jamia Milia Islamia University, a shocking incident of violence has come to fore from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Aishe Ghosh, JNUSU president was brutally attacked by unidentified miscreants on the campus. According to students, the attackers had worn a mask so that they will not be identified. Some students have also accused ABVP, the student wing of BJP of carrying out this attack.

On Sunday evening, several students of JNU shared videos of vandalism on social media sending an SOS message. In one such video Ghosh can be seen bleeding and seeking for help.

The masked miscreants allegedly also entered the Sabarmati hostel, Mahi Mandvi hostel and Periyar hostel and thrashed the students. The pictures of the attackers shared on social media by students show that they were wielding sticks and rods.

While the JNUSU in their statement accused ABVP of carrying out the attack. However, the organization has refuted the allegations. On the contrary, it accused the left leaning student organizations AISA, SFI and and DSFI of attacking its members. The ABVP in its statement said that 25 of its members have been injured in the violence.
The violence reportedly broke out over protests against the hostel fee hike.
