New Delhi| Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria stressed that the country will continue to strive for peace and the “sacrifice” at Galwan Valley “will not go in vain”. Speaking at the combined graduation parade at the Air Force Academy near Hyderabad, the Indian Air Force chief commented about the prevailing situation in Eastern Ladakh.
“The gallant actions in a highly-challenging situation have demonstrated our resolve to protect India’s sovereignty at any cost,” the Air Marshal said talking about the violent face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers in eastern Ladakh on Monday. 20 Indian soldiers had to lose their lives in this face-off.
“It should be very clear that we are well prepared and suitably deployed to respond to any contingency. I assure the nation that we are determined to deliver and will never let the sacrifice of the braves of Galwan go in vain,” the Air Force Chief said.
“The security scenario in our region mandates that our armed forces remain prepared and vigilant at all times. The development at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh is a small snapshot of what we are required to handle at a short notice,” he further added.
“In spite of unacceptable Chinese action after agreements reached during military talks and the resulting loss of lives, all efforts are underway to ensure that the current situation at LAC is resolved peacefully,” said the Air Chief Marshal.
Earlier on Friday, PM Modi had said, “Nobody has infiltrated our border nor China has occupied any of our posts. Our 20 soldiers were martyred, but those who challenged Bharat Mata, our soldiers have taught them a lesson. The entire country will remember their valor.”
“While we have allowed the army to take appropriate steps at its level on the one hand, on the other hand, we have also made it clear to China through diplomatic means. India wants peace and friendship, but protecting our sovereignty is paramount for us. You all have expressed this sentiment,” PM Modi added in his speech after an all-party meeting called up to discuss the China issue.
