India Records More Than 47000 Coronavirus Cases, Experts Worried About Third Wave

Kerala is still the most affected state by the Coronavirus and more than 70 percent of the total cases in the country are from Kerala.

 

In the last 24 hours, new cases of coronavirus have crossed 47000 Mark. At the same time, about 500 patients have also lost their lives due to infection. Earlier on Wednesday, more than 40000 coronavirus cases were recorded in the country. Additionally, the number of active cases has surpassed the number of recoveries leading to concerns of third wave. According to the latest data, 470092 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the country in a day.

The number of active cases in the country has also increased to 3,89,583. At the same time, 35,181 patients of Coronavirus have recovered during this period.

Except Monday, more than 40000 new cases of the Covid-19 have been registered in India for seven out of the last eight days. New cases of coronavirus in India were below 40000 on 13 August and this trajectory continued till 24 August.

Kerala is still the most affected state by the pandemic and more than 70 percent of the total cases in the country are from Kerala. On Wednesday, the state recorded 32,803 new cases of coronavirus, which is 72 percent of the total new cases. More than 30000 cases have been reported in Kerala for 5 out of the last seven days.

In Maharashtra, the second most affected state of the country, 4,456 new cases have been registered on Wednesday. There has been a slight increase in new cases of coronavirus in the state.
