For the third consecutive day, India has recorded close to 8000 Coronavirus cases daily. India recorded 204 deaths in the last 24 hours.
New Delhi| India remains seventh on the list of countries most affected by the Coronavirus pandemic as the cases reached 1.98 Lakh. As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Famly Welfare, India now has 198706 cases of Coronavirus. Out of them, 97581 are active cases whereas 95527 have been cured/discharged or migrated.
The death toll due to Coronavirus in India has reached 5598. For the third consecutive day, India has recorded close to 8000 cases daily. India recorded 204 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state with 70013 cases. Among them, 37543 are active cases, 30108 have been cured whereas the death toll is at 2362. On Monday, 2361 new patients were found and 76 lost their lives. The impact of lockdown relaxation was visible on the streets of Mumbai on day 1 of Unlock1. More people and vehicles were seen on the streets which were deserted for the last two months.

Meanwhile, the city of Mumbai which is one of the worst affected cities in the country with its overwhelmed health infrastructure is gearing up to brace another challenge. The IMD has issued a warning of a severe cyclonic storm which is expected to make landfall in Mumbai on June 3. The government has alerted all the hospital administration and is ramping up precautionary measures.
Tamil Nadu remains the second most affected state with the cases at 23495 followed by Delhi which has recorded 20834 cases of Coronavirus. Meanwhile, the state of Gujrat has recorded a total of 17200 cases. Out of which, 5357 are active cases and 10780 have recovered. The death toll is at 1063.

In Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, 194 were found infected, 8 died. The new infected include 53 in Indore, 44 in Bhopal, 18 in Ujjain and 15 in Khargone. So far, there have been 8283 patients in the state. 161 people recovered in the last 24 hours.
In Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, 286 new patients were found and 5 died. Now the number of infected in the state has increased to 8361. On the other hand, under unlock-1, markets are opening in the state from 9 am to 9 pm from today. Bus services have also started. However, restrictions in the containment zone will remain until June 30.
