On 23 March, the government had canceled all the commercial flights effectively in the wake of coronavirus outbreak.
The government had told the airline companies that all domestic flights should reach their destination by 11.59 pm on 24th March. Flights would not run after that day. Only cargo flights would be exempt from the regulations. On average, 13 million passengers a month and 14 crore passengers travel on domestic flights annually. These restrictions meant that transport in the country had come to a complete standstill from 23rd March.
