Gujarat: Labourers Protest & Pelt Stones at the Diamond Bourse Office

This is the third incident of protest amid lockdown in less than a month by hundreds of migrant labourers in Surat city in Gujarat.

Gujarat: Amid national lockdown to combat COVID-19, labourers protested and pelted stones at the office of Diamond Bourse in Surat, claiming that they were made to work.

Workers also demanded that to be sent back to their native places.

As per reports, the workers are from various states such as Rajasthan, Odisha, UP and Bihar.

Earlier, in an incident, locals had hurled stones at the police in Surat for implementing the lockdown in the city. Locals reportedly got upset when a police van reached Dindoli area to enforce the lockdown.
