Maharashtra Secretariat Shut After 4 Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

The infected staff of the Maharashtra government department have been moved to a state-run hospital for further treatment, an official said.

Mumbai| On Tuesday, after 4 employees tested positive for COVID-19, an official said that the Maharashtra secretariat, Mantralaya, will remain closed for the next 2 days.

The infected staff of the state government department have been moved to a state-run hospital for further treatment, he said.

Additional Chief Secretary (Services), General Administration, Sitaram Kunte, in a circular stated that the Mantralaya would remain shut on April 29 and 30 for sanitisation.

The official added that the general administration department has declared to undertake sanitisation work in the entire building.

Mantralaya is currently operating with thin attendance in view of the national lockdown due to coronavirus.

The total number of cases in Maharashtra– the worst affected state by the virus, has climbed to 8,590 with 369 deaths.
