Tablighi Jamaat members in Tamil Nadu, that tested positive, have come forward for donating their plasma in order to help infected people.
Chennai| The members of Jamaat that attended the Nizamuddin event who later tested positive in Tamil Nadu for novel coronavirus and have been cured now have come forward to donate plasma to help currently infected people.
Of the 1,821 novel coronavirus patients in Tamil Nadu, over 1,300 belong to the Delhi cluster, including 620 members who attended the Tablighi meeting.
Over 1,000 of Jamaat attendees from Tamil Nadu had willingly admitted themselves for novel coronavirus testing, however, many states faced difficulties in tracing and convincing the members to get themselves tested.
Apart from wanting to help patients, the attendees want to disperse notions that they have not cooperated with the officials.
Deccan Herald reported 40-year-old Mohammad Jaffar from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu who tested positive for Coronavirus after attending the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation in New Delhi as saying, âI am ready to donate my plasma not just to help other patients recover from COVID-19 but to send a message that I am cooperative in nature and a law-abiding citizen. I want to give hope to others.â

A good number of the attendees of the Delhi meet from Tamil Nadu have displayed their willingness to donate their plasma to treat COVID-19 patients to send a strong message that they are âlaw-abidingâ citizens.
Convalescent Plasma Therapy means taking antibodies from a cured patient to treat others suffering from the infection.
