Bhopal| A 53-year old visually impaired banker woman was allegedly raped in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, informed the police. The culprit is still to be identified.
The victim, who happens to be a banker, was alone at home since her husband remains stranded in another state due to the nation-wide lockdown imposed to curb coronavirus spread, a police inspector said.
As per the police complaint, the victim was sleeping in her home, close to the hospital, when an unidentified man entered her house and raped her, the inspector further informed.
“A case has been registered under section 376 (rape) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the hunt is on for the accused,” he added.
The victim was later sent for medical examination, he added.
