Across the globe, the novel coronavirus has infected over 2 million people and caused over 136,000 fatalities.
New Delhi| On Thursday, India crossed the 12,000-mark in novel coronavirus cases by recording total 12,380 infections, and casualties surged to 414, the Union Health Ministry said.
The country reported 37 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the government data.
Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state in the country with almost 3,000 cases reported now and 295 fatalities.
PM has extended the lockdown till 3rd May indicating that a strict lockdown will be followed till 20th April.
After 20th April, some restrictions in unaffected areas will be lifted after analysis.

To āmitigate hardships to the public,ā agriculture, IT, e-commerce and all inter-state goods transport will be allowed after April 20.
The new guidelines say that areas important for rural and agricultural development and job creation will be resumed in non-COVID-19 zones.
However, extremely restraints will be implemented in hotspots, with a large number of coronavirus cases or showing a rapid increase in infection.
