Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi Nominated To Rajya Sabha By President Kovind

Ranjan Gogoi spearheaded Ayodhya Land dispute, Sabarimala temple women’s entry and the politically sensitive Rafale fighter jet case.

 

New Delhi| President Ramnath Kovind has nominated former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi to Rajya Sabha. A gazette notification was issued by Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday informing that the President has nominated ex-CJI Gogoi to Rajya Sabha after a seat fell vacant.

Gogoi retired in November last year. However, in his tenure as CJI, he spearheaded many high profile cases such as Ayodhya Land dispute, Sabarimala temple women’s entry and the politically sensitive Rafale fighter jet case.
