Even in December last year, Rahul Gandhi had walked out of the Defense Committee meeting alleging they were not allowed to speak.
Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament starting July 19, a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense was held on Wednesday. Many Congress MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, left the meeting in the middle. Congress MPs wanted to discuss the incident in Doklam, Ladakh last year, while the committee chairman was not in favor. In protest, Congress leaders boycotted the meeting.
Some media reports recently said that China is strengthening itself in the areas around Doklam. In such a situation, the Congress wanted this to be discussed in detail in the meeting of the Defense Committee, but the chairman refused to accept it. After this all the Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi got up and left.
Rahul had also left the meeting last year
Even in December last year, Rahul Gandhi had walked out of the Defense Committee meeting. During the meeting, CDS Bipin Rawat was informing all the members about the uniforms of the military forces, when Rahul Gandhi interrupted them and raised the issue of China. He had reportedly asked about India’s preparation in Ladakh. However, Chairman Juel Oram interrupted him. As a result, angry Rahul left the room.
