NCP announces 5 candidates for Beed District for upcoming assembly elections

The NCP is contesting elections along with Congress and they both have already announced a seat-sharing arrangement.

 

Mumbai– The exodus of senior leaders from the party seems to have pushed Sharad Pawar’s NCP to announce candidates early giving them more time to prepare for the upcoming Maharashtra elections.

Pawar announced five candidates for his party in Beed district this afternoon.

The leader of opposition in the legislator council, Dhananjay Munde will contest from Parli. Dhananjay Munde is a cousin of Pankaja Munde who is a cabinet minister in the state.

The party also announced the names of Sandeep Kshirsagar from Beed, Vijaysinh Pandit from Gerwai, Prakash Salunke from Mazalgoan and Namita Mundra from Kaij.

Many leaders from NCP have quit the party since the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Sharad Pawar has said that his party will try out new faces and young leaders.

The Maharashtra assembly has 288 seats and elections are likely to be held next month which is October 2019.
