“Avoid Making Unnecessary Statements, Let The Work Shine”: PM Modi To New Cabinet

PM Modi also told the ministers that their work should do the talk for them. “Your work should shine, not you.”

New Delhi| The day after the biggest cabinet expansion, Prime Minister Modi spoke to his ministers. Advising his new cabinet, PM Modi asked them to avoid making “unnecessary” statements in the media. He also asked them to “learn” from the experience of their predecessors.

Twelve ministers, including those seniormost, were removed from the Cabinet posts ahead of the mega cabinet overhaul on Wednesday.

According to reports, PM Modi also mentioned the outgoing ministers. Rejecting the claims that they were axed from the cabinet due to their incompetence, PM Modi said that the exit of the senior cabinet ministers has nothing to do with their ability. He even suggested the new ministers to meet their predecessors.

“Meet Predecessors, Learn From Them”

“He said those who are no longer part of the Cabinet had made contributions and the newcomers can learn from them,” media reports quoted sources as saying.

PM Modi also told the ministers that their work should do the talk for them. “Your work should shine, not you. Put all your energy into departmental work,” he asked the ministers. “Images of crowds concerning”: PM Modi

PM Modi also mentioned Coronavirus situation in the meeting. He expressed concern over the crowds thronging hill stations and negligence of people at tourist destinations. The PM said that due to the less number of Coronavirus Cases, people now want to move out of their homes, but all of them should remember that the threat of an epidemic has not yet been averted. The virus is constantly mutating.

“For the last few days, we have been looking at pictures and videos of people walking around crowded places and without masks or social distance. This is not a pleasant sight. We should be afraid of this. There should be no room for negligence in such times. A little carelessness can be a problem for many people. Cases of infection are also increasing in other countries due to similar negligence. So people should follow the Coronavirus protocols,” PM Modi said.

He asked the ministers to spread awareness among people but not instilling fear.
