Islamabad | Pakistan PM Imran Khan speaking about Jammu and Kashmir issue, said that he would no longer seek dialogue with Indian officials.
In an interview with the NewYorkTimes, Imran Khan said, “There is no point in talking to them. I mean, I have done all the talking. Unfortunately, now when I look back, all the overtures that I was making for peace and dialogue, I think they took it for appeasement”.
“There is nothing more that we can do”, he added.
Imran Khan has strongly criticised Centre’s move of revoking Article 370, which granted the disputed state a special status, and has downgraded relations.
PM Khan has previously compared PM Modi and his ‘Hindu supremacy’ with Hitler’s nazism and accused the government of ethnic cleansing.
“The most important thing is that eight million people’s lives are at risk. We are all worried that there is ethnic cleansing and genocide about to happen,” Mr. Khan said.
He also addressed the nuclear war speculations, and said that if India carried out the attack first, they will be “forced to respond”.
“And then you are looking at two nuclear-armed countries eyeball to eyeball, and anything can happen,” he said.
“My worry is that this can escalate and for two nuclear-armed countries, it should be alarming for the world what we are facing now”, he added.
Pakistan has said it would take the Kashmir dispute with India to International Court of Justice and the United Nations. However, the closed-door meeting of the UNSC council yielded no outcomes.
